1994
A&A Inform Inc., a Russian-US joint venture, was founded in New York by Alexander Korobko. The company produced television documentaries and commercials broadcast in Russia and the US. They also published the “New York Travel Guide.” Korobko and A& A Inform collaborated with “Cinetron Productions Inc.” to produce the first Russian-American TV commercials.
1995-97
“Otchiy Dom” (“Homeland”) magazine, founded by Alexander Korobko’s parents, Yuri Korobko and Lidia Ilyushenko, was published in Russia from 1995 to 2004. During this period, Alexander served as the magazine’s director and a special correspondent for the family-run venture. In parallel, Alexander and associates launched “TAM” (“Over There”) newspaper. The first fortnightly issue sold out its print run of 100,000 copies. Following several successful initial issues, “ТАМ” was acquired by distributors.
1998-2001
From 1998-2001, A& A Inform focused on TV production for NTV MIR, City TV, and CFMT in Canada, the UK, and Russia. In 2001, A& A Inform became a UK company.
2003
A& A Inform launched “Russian Hour” TV series, which promoted mutual understanding between the UK and Russia and celebrated the Russian-British connection. The series received positive reviews and awards.
2006
Alexander Korobko won the Golden Tambourine award at the 10th International Festival of TV Programmes and Films for the Enlightening Programme category for the TV documentary “Who am I? Archaeogenetic adventure”.
2007
“Ugra Time” launched. Ahead of the 2008 EU-Russia summit, “Russian Hour” filmed a 17-part series in Khanty-Mansiysk to explain Ugra culture and geography to western audiences.
2008-09
“Historic Scotland” and “Russian Hour” unveiled a stone in Skara Brae to honor Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space. In 2009, “Russian Hour”, the Orkney Islands Council, the Government of the Autonomous Province of Ugra, and “Ugra Time” unveiled a memorial to Arctic Convoy sailors in Orkney.
Russian Hour runs ’There’s God' ads on London buses in response to the atheists' campaign.
2011-2012
“Russian Hour” expanded into publishing and multimedia production.
2014
“Russian Hour” opened a new media studio in Moscow.
2016
“Russian Hour” developed its own style of “micro-movie” advertisements.
2017
“Russian Hour” launched the “Russia’s DNA” book series.
2018
“Russian Hour” continued to expand its media activities.
Russian Hour produces the documentary film “Donetsk — New York and back” starring American actor Peter von Berg. It’s the only independent film about life in the DPR released in Russia, the USA, and the UK.
2019
“Russian Hour” held its first motor rally on the Moscow-Doha route.
2020
The company released its debut feature film, the “Alpha R” thriller.
2022-24
Russian Hour partnered with Al-Jazeera.
2023
Russian Hour produces the “Sky Farmer of Donbass” docudrama, comprising both fictional and documentary parts, inspired by “War and Peace” style as well as Ideas of Tolstoy and Metropolitan Anthony of Sourozh.
2024
